The AmpLit Fest Emerging Writers Showcase
Co-produced by Lamprophonic and Summer on the Hudson, AmpLit Fest is a free, daylong festival that brings authors of all backgrounds, styles, and levels of recognition to center stage. With readings, workshops, panels, and a community market, AmpLit Fest makes one of life’s most solitary acts — writing — a public celebration.
At this event, we will present the works of six emerging writers from across New York City and beyond. We are open to any writing that will thoughtfully engage the audience, be it fiction, nonfiction, poetry, monologue, or something else or in between. We want to shine a spotlight on the best new work you might not know about, but definitely should.
AmpLit Fest will take place on Saturday, June 9th. The showcase will be from 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm.
To be considered to read, please submit a brief bio and no more than six pages of your own work. Prose submissions must be double-spaced, and all submissions must be twelve-point font. Only one entry per writer.
If you are invited to read, you are expected to read the selection submitted to us.
We are committed to curating an inclusive showcase, and encourage writers of color, Indigenous writers, gender non-conforming writers, differently abled writers, LGBTQ writers, and writers who are otherwise affected by systemic inequality to submit their work for consideration.
